!!! Submitting your work to VIST Show

READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FROM GLEN CAREFULLY!

DEADLINE:  Monday, April 30th at 4:00pm
---------------------------------------------
Step 1: Submit your work

A folder called "VIST_Show2012" is located on the desktop of the
podium-machine in the Mac Lab for project submissions. If your
project(s) are stored on a personal external firewire/USB drive, you can
connect your drive to this machine and then transfer your files to the
appropriate sub-folder of "VIST_FallShow_2011." Project files can also
be submitted via CDs or DVDs. Consult with your instructor.

Use the following file-naming convention!!! Not only will it
help during the editing process, but it plays a more important role as
we strive to archive the work of all of our students.

lastName_title_classNumber.extension
(all lower-case, no spaces)

For example, if Jane Smith was going to submit a MOV file of "My
Journey" for 305, she would name her file:

smith_myjourney_305.mov

If multiple people worked on the project, just put the last name of the
person who submitted it (and make sure that the other people involved
have their names listed in the credits).

If the full title is too long to put in a file name, put a
"representative" title that is descriptive enough that we know what the
file is. Make sure the full title is somewhere in the body of the piece.

If the piece is from outside of a class, put "_indy" instead of
"_classNumber".

If you are a TA submitting a class reel, name it
"class_reel_classNumber.extension"

We will accept AVI, or MOV files. For "quality" reasons, the preferred
compression settings are uncompressed, tiff sequence, or animation.
Submit your projects ASAP.  If we encounter a problem importing your
file into the final timeline, we want as much time as possible to
correct it.

If you have any questions, or need help getting your files transferred,
let us know at help@viz.tamu.edu
---------------------------------------------

Step 2: Inform us of your submission.

Send a 'reply' to this email (do not change the subject-line
